Microsoft PowerPoint is a popular app that makes presentations. The main idea is to deliver a message in a more clear way and to capture and hold audience's attention.
Free and Premium Features 9/10
Like other Microsoft apps, PowerPoint gives you three ways to use it. In the "View Only" mode, you can open the app without logging into an account and view documents. In the "View and Edit" mode, you can create and use a limited number of editing tools. You will have to create an account if you don't have one.
In the "Premium Features" mode, you will have all functions enabled. In return, you should buy an Office 365 subscription. You will be able to edit WordArt, apply shadows and reflections to graphics, adjust table cells and columns and much more.
Navigation 10/10
The majority of the app screen is dominated by the slides. Thumbnails sit on the left – this formula has stayed almost untouched for many years now. Thanks to an intuitive design layout, it's very easy to navigate around. Animation previews are loaded automatically when you select them, while drop-down menus show up when you insert a new slide.
To create a new presentation, just tap the "+" icon in the top-right corner. Then pick a style and chose where to send your new file. The app has an Autosave feature, so no changes will be lost.
Ease of Use 9/10
PowerPoint offers many helpful tools, but it's the ease of use that made the app popular. Whether you need to display the slideshow, manage your notes, duplicate one slide or export the whole presentation as a video – everything is easy to do. Even though PC versions offer more in terms of control, the app also does its best. It is more than enough for presenting and editing slides.
Compatibility 5/5
The very first PowerPoint version was presented on Macintosh in 1987. Hundreds of updates have added thousands of features and have made PowerPoint available beyond Windows and Macintosh, adding versions for Android and iOS. You can also access many PowerPoint features through your browser.
Summary
Microsoft PowerPoint rules the roost with its unique features, smooth transitions and animations, and constantly updated list of templates. And it's very easy to pick up, too.
