LG TV Remote is a free app developed by LG Electronics Inc. It allows you to use your phone as a TV remote and control your Smart TV.

LG TV Remote is meant to give you control to your TV through your smartphone. All you need is an LG TV that can connect to your WiFi and communicate with other devices wirelessly. 

What's left to do is to download the virtual remote to your phone or tablet. Launch the app and choose the device you have at home. Finally, turn on the TV and press "Device scan". It will automatically find the TV.

Once you have set everything up, you can use your phone to change channel settings and adjust volume. Besides, you will have access to a traditional keypad and a channel list. Other functions include a Smart home button, input controls and 3D4 (for TVs with OLED 4K and UHD displays).

Along with the main features, the app can serve as a gamepad. It's perfect for playing games. Finally, with this app, you can use your phone as the TV.

In-App Ads 4/10

This is where things get tricky. LG TV Remote can be used for free but it shows lots of ads that interrupt the flow of WiFi between your TV and your phone. In their reviews users say that 90% of ads could be removed and the app would still have more than enough of them. Basically, every 5 taps gives you a new add. If you accidentally click on it, it will take you to the app store.

LG TV Remote works on all TVs with Web OS, Smart TV technology and WiFi capability. However, you may have to find the 2011 version of the app to make it work on older TVs. You can get it in the App Store and Google Play.
