Garmin Connect Mobile is an app created for people with Garmin devices. In short, it monitors everything from functional threshold power to your training status to help you meet your training goals.
The Main Features 8/10
The first thing you'll see after you launch the app is "My Day", which shows your activities with the app up until now. The number of sensors your Garmin watch has, determines how much data can be recorded. You can click on any metric to expand it and get more information.
The good thing about Garmin Connect Mobile is that you can remove and reorder any data point by tapping the "Edit" button. You can also input anything you like. Finally, the app tells you about how you sleep.
There are two customization options you can choose from to help you while running. The first one is called "Workouts". You can create your own workouts by choosing an activity (e.g. running or jogging) and adding your warm-up/cool-down routine. You can also input information like cadence, time, distance, pace, and rate. Once you've done creating a workout, you can give it a title and add notes.
The second customization option is "Maps and Courses". You can upload routes to follow as you run or walk. This is a lifesaver when you are going for a long run with many turns.
User Interface 7/10
Garmin Connect Mobile is an information-dense app, which can be a good or a bad thing depending on your preferences. Still, it can take some time to get used to its interface. On top of the information-dense main screen there are slide-out menus on the side. There you can find insights, performance stats, activity, health, and more. It seems that Garmin just couldn't fit these in the bottom tab.
You can download Garmin Connect Mobile from platforms such as App Store and Google Play. The app is compatible with iPad and iPod, as well as Mac and Windows. However, phones with an Android Go-Edition operating system list the app as incompatible. Users with Huawei and Lenovo phones can also have compatibility issues.
With Garmin Connect Mobile, you can see what works and what doesn't work, what workouts were successful and why, and so on. Although the main screen can be a bit overwhelming at first, pretty soon, you'll learn to quickly access all data points.
